- Reviewing, assessing, and responding to public and private sector proposal submissions (RFPs, RFIs, Security Questionnaires, etc.) as well as unsolicited bids.
- Coordinating, writing, editing, and finalizing proposal/bid work, by working with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, GRC and various subject matter experts within the company to develop content and proposals from conception through to delivery. This includes bringing your creative flair to the Absorb proposal development process and finding ways to showcase our award winning LMS to prospective clients (within Absorb's branding guidelines).
- Maintaining and growing the company's proposal boilerplates, including evergreening existing templates, content and information; as well as regularly authoring and/or updating material and assets.
- Searching for bids on public tender sites, assessing prospects, preparing and quarterbacking the response/outcome of the proposal and then tracking the results for reporting and success.
- Assisting in developing and continuously improving the proposal process, structure and format, win strategies, competitive analysis, compliance matrices, etc.
- University education in a relevant field of study (i.e. communications, commerce, etc.).
- 1 - 3 years relevant experience in a proposal, sales, business development or marketing orientated role. Preference with candidates who have experience directly coordinating / writing/preparing proposals for the public and private sectors.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of different groups setting expectations and holding other departments accountable to project deliverables (We often refer to our team as the cat herders).
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, including an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information to various audience members (bonus points if you appreciate a good pun and have been known as the grammar police).
- Strong overall proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines across multiple proposal projects including multiple timezones individually and/or as part of a cohesive team.
- Highly organized, with a history of being detail-oriented and a track record of delivering high-quality output on time (We live by deadlines and can't miss a deadline by one second).
- Experience with CRM applications, ideally Salesforce.
- Familiarity with proposal production software, ideally RFPIO (Responsive).
- Knowledge of Adobe CS Suite including InDesign would be an asset.
- Experience with RFP sites such as MERX, Ariba, Biddingo, Bonfire would be an asset.
- Additional written/spoken languages would be an asset.
