Reporting to the manager, you will provide accounting support to our cooperative members. Your main responsibilities include preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial statements to the cooperative's board of directors.Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Quebec Cooperatives Act.
Generate various financial reports as needed.
Travel to cooperatives to present annual financial statements to the board of directors and recommend member feedback.
Ø Analyze general ledger accounts and make necessary adjustments.
Ø Prepare year-end documentation for external auditors.
Ø Provide accounting support to cooperative staff and contribute to the development of training programs.
Ø Conduct financial analyses, including key ratios, and explain variances from budgets and the previous year's results.
Ø Occasionally, assist general managers with operational management tasks.
Ø Supervise and participate in physical inventories in cooperative stores and warehouses.
Ø Supervise and participate in physical inventory counts in cooperative stores and warehouses;
Ø Participate in the development of new accounting procedures;
Ø Ensure that accounting procedures are followed and report any anomalies;
Ø Travel to cooperatives to provide accounting assistance that cannot be provided from the Montreal offices;
Ø Support any other related tasks requested by the manager or to support the cooperatives and their staff.Your profile:
Ø University degree in accounting
Ø 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ø Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
Ø Organized, methodical, and meticulousConditions:
