We are recruiting for two Sample Management Technician roles within a growing team responsible for the entire process of receiving, handling, storing, and preparing biological samples for research activities.Both positions require strong organizational skills, comfort working in a regulated environment (GLP/GDP), and a willingness to handle human and animal biological materials, including cytotoxic samples.Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inventory, and label study materials.
  • Ensure all paperwork and conditions of received samples meet quality standards.
  • Perform proper storage and disposal of samples.
  • Manage service requests and prepare samples for shipment or long-term storage.
  • Handle and manipulate human and animal samples, including blood, serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and potentially infectious materials (CL2, RD-2, cytotoxic).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity using laboratory information management systems (e.g., Watson LIMS).
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, GLPs, GDPs, and company policies.
  • Communicate internally to ensure documentation (e.g., Certificates of Analysis) is complete for critical reagents.
Depending on the team, additional responsibilities may include:
  • Sample collection kit preparation: assembling and labeling kits for clinical trials, with detailed administrative work and the use of automated labeling equipment.
Requirements:
  • DEC in Science or higher education in a related field.
  • Minimum 6 months of relevant experience preferred; recent graduates welcome to apply.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Good organizational and communication skills; spoken and written French is ideal for internal communications.
  • Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with biological sample handling and aware of associated safety protocols.
Working Conditions:
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • Contract positions of 3-6 months, with possibility of extension based on performance and business growth.
  • Full-time roles:
o Evening shift: 1:00pm to 9:00pm, including potential weekends.
o Day shift: 8:00am to 4:00pm.
o Training period requires availability during daytime hours (first 6-8 weeks).
o Fast-paced, production-like environment; overtime may be required.
o On-site role in Laval, accessible by public transportation and with parking available.
Compensation:
  • Starting wage: $21/hour.
  • Evening premium: +$1.25/hour.
  • Weekend premium: +$2.00/hour.
