Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with occasional overtime, working on site with clientAbout the Role: We are seeking a skilled Telecom Technician to join our team, specializing in commercial data center installations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in structured cabling, AV rack and IT rack installation, and setting up patch panels within telecom rooms. This role involves working in high-performance environments to ensure the reliable installation of telecom infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cables, in data centers and telecom rooms
- Assemble and mount AV racks, IT racks, and related telecom infrastructure.
- Set up, label, and organize patch panels for efficient connectivity and troubleshooting.
- Perform cable dressing, routing, and management to industry standards.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and network diagrams.
- Conduct troubleshooting, testing, and certification of installed cabling systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and other technicians to complete installations within deadlines.
- Follow industry best practices, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, including labeling and test reports.Qualifications & Skills:- Experience: At least two years of experience in telecom, structured cabling, or data center installations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in installing and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with ANSI/TIA/EIA standards and best practices for cabling and telecom infrastructure.
- Tools & Equipment: Experience using cable testers, punch-down tools, fusion splicers, and other telecom installation tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Work Eligibility: Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks if required.Position: Lead AV Installation Technician

If so, we want to meet with you!Our client is looking for a Lead AV Installation Technician to support clients in the Greater Montreal region.In this role, you will oversee the installation of audiovisual systems in a business-to-business environment, ensuring all components are properly configured and tested. You will also provide technical guidance to the team and maintain high standards for system performance.Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee AV installation projects, ensuring best practices in cabling, structured wiring, and system integration
- Read and interpret system schematics, electrical drawings, and architectural plans
- Install and configure AV hardware , including Cisco, Crestron and related systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain installed systems, making necessary modifications to DSP/control systems
- Provide technical support to clients via phone, video, or on-site visits
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built plans
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and participate in professional developmentRequirements:- Post-secondary diploma in electronics, broadcasting, telecommunications, related
- Minimum 2 years in AV installation, with experience leading projects or teams
- Strong knowledge of AV equipment and integration
- Familiarity with IP networking and experience with Cisco, Crestron and related AV software an important asset
- Ability to perform low-voltage cable pulling and AV/network cable terminations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, work at heights, and travel frequently for installations
