And we are looking for a solid candidate to join our Investments Technology team to support the full-scale modernization of our technology stack. Team’s key responsibilities are prioritized towards the investment systems and processes leveraged to manage Equitable assets. Maintain and enhance shared technology solutions and infrastructure. This role will partner with a cross-functional team to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions to optimize the organizations' service experience. Responsible to develop and implement infrastructure technologies that support business priorities and capabilities for internal and external clientsJoin one of the region’s top employers and be part of something that truly makes a difference.Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.What you’ll do:
  • Lead end-to-end quality assurance efforts across multiple projects, ensuring high standards in functionality, performance, security, and usability
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for backend services, APIs, and front-end applications
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies
  • Own the definition of quality metrics and KPIs, and report on test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness
  • Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, contributing to quality-first perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards of financial systems
  • Inspect systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvements to workflow and enhanced efficiencies
  • Champion root cause analysis and post-release reviews, helping teams learn from defects and improve future releases.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, with a strong background in both manual and automated testing across complex systems — ideally within the FinTech domain.
  • Experience validating backend data using SQL queries and database testing techniques (data reconciliation, ETL validation).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to validate complete data flows, financial calculations, and system integrations across distributed systems.
  • Experience with modern test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress), with the ability to design scalable and maintainable test suites.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably within Azure DevOps, and experience integrating automated tests into build and release workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing, performance testing, and security validations, ensuring robust and resilient systems.
  • Proven ability to test across diverse environments: SaaS, on-prem, and cloud solutions
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end SDLC, with a quality-first mindset throughout planning, development, and release.
