As a Payroll Specialist, Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinate and oversee payroll staff to ensure that all semi-monthly processes are executed appropriately and in a timely mannerOperate as a subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues while looking for improvements in operational processesProcess all remittances, including federal and provincial payroll taxesGenerate payroll related reports and complete analysisPrepare and process journal entries, analyze transactions and prepare account reconciliationsOversee the reconciliation and balancing (on a semi-monthly payroll cycle) of all payroll earnings and deduction accountsConduct payroll orientations for new employees, provide guidance, and share knowledge with team membersRespond to payroll enquiries from employees and external organizationsAssist Payroll Manager on year-end activities and other special projects as requiredAssist and participate in special projectsExperiences and skills you’ll use to solvePCP or CPM designation from the CPA or equivalentPayroll experience with demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills and strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislationAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills, experience with Workday payroll system is an assetAbility to handle and use discretion with highly confidential information and knowledge of quality assurance and audit techniquesAdvanced communication skills both written and oral and excellent customer service, relationship building and cross-functional skillsDemonstrated initiative and organizational, analytical, conflict-resolution and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy of results and ability to adapt to a changing environmentPwC Canada is committed to cultivating an inclusive, hybrid work environment.
