- Perform incoming goods inspections to ensure all materials and components meet established acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Execute weekly cycle counts and materials replenishment to the production floor.
- Manage and monitor controlled inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, shortage control, traceability, and timely release of quality-approved materials to production.
- Conduct in-process inspections of sub-assemblies and final product inspections to verify compliance with technical specifications and product and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect repaired products to ensure that all rework or servicing activities meet original quality and performance standards before being returned to stock or shipment.
- Initiate and document Nonconformity Reports (NCRs) when deviations are identified during production and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Oversee the assembly and testing of THORASYS products, ensuring each unit meets performance expectations, procedural requirements, and quality requirements.
- Verify and perform quality control checks on outgoing shipments of medical devices.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and participating in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation, including inspection records, test data, NCRs, and inventory tracking logs.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth workflows, adherence to processes, and a shared commitment to quality.
- 1-3 years of experience in quality control, ideally in a manufacturing, electronics, or medical device environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as inspection checklists, NCRs, CAPA processes, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (asset)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and inspection methods.
- Organized, dependable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced production setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- College diploma or associate degree in Quality Assurance, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communicator, able to interact with R&D, production, and quality teams.
- Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a startup environment.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and operate pallet jacks or similar equipment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Fluent in English written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
