Director, Finance & AccountingFull-time | PermanentEdmonton, AB | OnsiteSalary Range: $110,000 – $130,000DescriptionThe Director, Finance & Accounting is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization. This role plays a critical part in strategic planning, decision-making, and long-term growth. Reporting to executive leadership, you will lead a high-performing finance team, manage all fiscal operations, and partner cross-functionally to drive performance, scalability, and operational excellence across a growing franchise network.What You’ll Be DoingLead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls across the company’s group of entitiesProvide timely financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and franchise development initiativesOversee day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practicesDesign, maintain, and continuously improve strong internal controls, financial policies, and proceduresLead the annual audit process, act as the primary liaison with external auditors, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting standardsCollaborate closely with Franchising, Operations, Store Development, People & Culture, IT, and Marketing to evaluate opportunities, manage risk, and enhance financial performanceDrive improvements in financial systems, ERP tools, reporting capabilities, and KPIs to support organizational growth and scalabilityManage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and lender reporting requirementsOversee cash flow management and foreign exchange activitiesBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing Finance team aligned with company values and cultureWhat You Must HaveCPA designation (required); MBA or other advanced finance-related credential is considered an asset10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles, ideally within QSR, franchising, or multi-unit retail environmentsDeep understanding of Canadian financial regulations, GAAP, and best-in-class financial practicesProven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, cost control initiatives, and strategic planning processesStrong systems expertise, including ERP platforms and financial reporting toolsA hands-on leadership approach that balances strategic vision with operational executionExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively at all organizational levelsWho Will Excel in This RoleYou thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments and enjoy building structure while enabling innovation.
