The Director leads a team of Supplier Quality Assurance Representatives (SQA) and drives a supplier development strategy, supported by designing metrics, scorecards, dashboards, and reporting out regularly to executive leadership on supplier performance.The Director works closely with the procurement & quality organizations, as well as sites general managers, to develop strong business relationships and ensure the different business units get the appropriate quality level from the suppliers.Main responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multisite team of SQA personnel ensuring their dedication, continuous
- Ensure budget is met
- Manage throughput of SQA department in answer to North America sites requests in a timely
- Ensure the team performs as per defined service level and KPI
- Manage reporting to upper management and stakeholders through monthly dashboards
- Foster a collaborative environment between all stakeholders impacted by supplier quality (SQA, QA, procurement teams, as well as management)
- Develop, implement, and continually improve processes, systems and tools defining the
metrics, etc. In particular, in the first year, ensure the proper implementation and respect of
reinforced supplier control processes.
- Work jointly with procurement teams in the supplier identification and qualification process,
- Manage the operational performance (Logistics & Quality) of suppliers in close coordination
- Maintain approved supplier list with supplier accreditations
- Assist and support in internal/customer audits/requests for each HDI site.
- University degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent relevant
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in the Aerospace Industry with 3 to 5 years
- Experience in processes change management a must
- Experience in managing multisite multicultural teams a plus
- Knowledge in Aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, ISO9000, AS9102) customer and
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and 3D models (GD&T)
- Computer literate and familiar with MS suite
- Experience with aerospace Landing Gear or similar complex products is an asset
- Familiar with technical problem-solving techniques, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, 5 Why, fishbone, etc.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, internally as well as with
- Objective oriented individual, able to propose and push through innovative ideas within set boundaries
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Ability to work independently and take quick decisions based upon technical knowledge and
- Knowledge of English is required because the candidate is expected to supervise and work
