We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional to join a busy and collaborative finance team within a growing construction and development organization in Winnipeg.This role is primarily focused on full-cycle Accounts Payable in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, vendors, and the finance team to ensure invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.In addition to Accounts Payable responsibilities, the role will also provide support with payroll processing and general accounting tasks. Payroll experience is considered an asset, but training can be provided for the right candidate.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership of processes, working in a team-oriented environment, and contributing to a hardworking and supportive finance group.Experience within the construction or development industry would be considered a strong asset.Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)

Manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable process from invoice receipt through payment
Review, code, and process high volumes of vendor invoices with accuracy
Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation
Work closely with project managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
Schedule and process payments through cheque, EFT, and online banking platforms
Maintain vendor files, tax documentation, and payment records
Perform vendor statement reviews and AP reconciliations
Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements within the AP workflow

Payroll Support

Assist with payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
Maintain payroll records, deductions, remittances, and benefits information
Support payroll reconciliations and related journal entries
Assist with government remittances (CRA, WCB, etc.)
Support year-end payroll reporting including T4 preparation
Payroll experience is considered an asset, but training can be provided.

Additional Accounting Support

Assist with invoicing and receivables tracking as required
Monitor aging reports and support follow-up on outstanding balances
Support month-end and year-end processes including journal entries and reconciliations
Assist with financial reporting and documentation as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Strong Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
Solid accounting foundation with bookkeeping and general ledger exposure
Experience working with an ERP or accounting system
Previous experience in construction, development, or project-based environments is considered an asset
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
Payroll exposure considered an asset but not required
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
