Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 04/23/2026About this opportunity:The HR Advisor plays a key role in delivering business‑facing HR operational support to assigned client groups while contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and services. This role requires strong judgment and the ability to interpret and apply HR policies, systems, and procedures to resolve complex issues and recommend effective solutions. The HR Advisor acts as a trusted partner to the business, collaborates across HR functions, and supports initiatives that enhance service delivery, efficiency, and employee experience.What you’ll do:
  • Serve as the dedicated HR Advisory representative for assigned client groups, providing guidance on complex HR operational matters through the application of HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Resolve HR cases accurately and efficiently, identifying root causes and escalating issues as required in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Interpret policies and processes to address diverse employee and leader inquiries in ambiguous situations.
  • Develop and maintain HR procedure materials, including process documentation, templates, FAQs, and quick reference guides.
  • Analyze trends and recurring issues to identify gaps and recommend process, policy, or system improvements.
  • Partner with HRIS and other HR teams to implement technology‑enabled solutions and mitigations.
  • Lead or contribute to small to medium scale process improvement initiatives with defined scope and manageable risk.
  • Act as a subject matter resource, sharing knowledge and supporting capability building across the HR team.
Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaMinimum of 5 years of progressive HR operations experience in a business‑facing role; oil and gas experience is considered an asset.Post‑secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.CPHR designation or working toward designation is an asset.Experience working within an HR shared services environment is preferred.Comfortable using HR systems and tools, with experience in SAP, Workday, and ServiceNow preferred.We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT April 22, 2026.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
