Job DescriptionWGL - HR AdvisorThe HR Advisor plays a key role in supporting employees and managers across the organization by providing guidance on HR policies, programs, and procedures. Through a deep understanding of the business and business strategy, this role will establish trusting, influential partnerships with business managers and employees. This role will serve as the first point of escalation for HR-related inquiries, helping to resolve issues directly or escalate to Senior HR Business Partners when appropriate. The Advisor contributes to the smooth execution of HR initiatives, promotes process efficiency, connecting the HR strategy to the business strategy and ensures compliance with applicable legislation.You Will:HR Policy & Program SupportProvide policy input aligned to business strategy (including external benchmarking for relevance testing)Communicate and implement corporate HR policies and proceduresEnsure policies are organized, accessible, and consistently applied across teamsProvide input on HR programs, program deployment and support execution of initiatives from all Centers of Excellence (COEs)Participate in cross-functional HR projects and contribute operational insightsEmployee Relations & SupportServe as the consultant to employees and managers inquiries related to leaves, performance, promotions, benefits, and life eventsCoordinate and conduct onboarding sessions for new hiresCoach managers on routine employee matters and escalate complex issues to HRBPs or Legal as neededDocument and facilitate Performance Improvement Plans and disciplinary actions for managers and employees with the support of the HRBP when requiredSupport employee issue resolution and facilitate conversations when appropriateCalculate and negotiate severance agreements at the manager and employee level and have a solid understanding of Canadian Common LawParticipate in exit interviews and offboarding processesPromote employee self-service tools and resources to enhance efficiencyEmployee Records & HRISPrepare employee documentation as requiredEnsure data integrity and compliance with recordkeeping standardsHRBP & Talent SupportProvide reports, data, and analytics including key findings and trends, data summaries and recommendations to support HRBP and business leader decision-makingFacilitate succession planning process, talent reviews and developmental opportunities for managers and employeesAssist with talent management activities such as succession planning logistics and talent reviews at the Leadership levelProvide input and expertise to the business and HR Business Partners with regards to Workforce Planning which aligns and supports the business strategyWork with HRBP’s to conduct management and employee level organizational changes including restructures and outplacement coordinationContribute to the development and delivery of HR-related training materialsRecruitment CoordinationLiaise with Talent Acquisition to support recruiting activities when neededConfirm headcount approvals and support hiring managers with job description, and onboarding coordinationYou Have:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related fieldCHRP designation preferred (or currently in progress)Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in HR or a combination of HR and business roles2–4 years of experience as an HR Generalist, Advisor, or ManagerStrong understanding of business strategy and its connection to HR strategySolid knowledge of Canadian employment law and HR best practicesProven ability to influence decision-making among managers and business leadersExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindsetSkilled in handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalismComfortable working in a dynamic environment with ambiguity and changeWe offer a competitive salary range of $95,400 - $138,075 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
