Job Category: Human ResourcesDegree Level: Bachelor's DegreeJob Description:Location: Calgary Term: 12-month contractKey ResponsibilitiesHR Advisory and PartnershipBuild strong, trusted partnerships with leaders by developing a deep understanding of their business needs and workforce challenges * Advise leaders on employment practices, policy interpretation, and employment legislation, balancing business needs with a people focused approachProvide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and supervisors on performance management, attendance, discipline, and employee relations mattersSupport unionized environments where applicable, including interpretation and application of collective agreements and labour relations matters including grievances and arbitration supportLead and conduct workplace investigationsCollaborate with internal HR Centres of Excellence to ensure alignment on total rewards, talent, and HR programs * Leverage HR data and insights to identify trends, diagnose challenges and recommend proactive evidence-based solutions
  • Provide guidance on complex employee matters, including accommodation, return-to-work, and disability management in partnership with Health & Safety and Disability teams
Recruitment & Talent AcquisitionLead full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles, including high-volume, project-based, remote, or hard-to-staff positions.Support rapid project mobilizations and ramp-ups, adjusting quickly to shifting timelines and operational priorities.Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, assess candidates, and support interview and selection processes.Maintain strong candidate experience while operating in fast-moving, real-time environments.Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles.Contribute to business development and workforce planning by providing labour market insights and staffing recommendations.Support recruitment activities across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with varying requirements.Skills & AttributesStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility with leaders.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.Agile, flexible, and comfortable working in fast-paced, operational settings.Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to operate with a strong sense of urgency.Discreet and professional when handling confidential information.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required.Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with 3+ years of related HR experience, including experience in unionized environments.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices
  • Demonstrated experience across employee and labour relations, performance management, compensation, and talent acquisition
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and HR technology platforms (Oracle Cloud experience is an asset)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a CHRP designation (or in progress)
