This role will be between all Lumenus’ sites.We’re looking for:A dependable, proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and keeping equipment and facilities in top shape, this role offers a great opportunity to make a real impact every day.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Admin and Site team leads to keep operations running day to day.
  • Completes repairs and handyman tasks.
  • May perform other duties within the nature and level of the job.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and take appropriate action to resolve issues. Including escalation to management.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, within an electronic ticketing system.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders and external vendors, responding professionally to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Complete work orders (tickets) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment (In line with the expectations of the sites and our clients).
  • Assist with facility upgrades/moves, installations, and special projects.
  • Monitor the overall condition, readiness and cleanliness of sites, ensuring the premises, furniture, and fixtures are in working order and within compliance where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and team members.
  • Will have the use of a van most of the time.
  • May require evening and after-hours work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of directly related work experience.
  • Diploma/Certificate in a related field or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in a Live in Treatment setting is an asset.
  • Non-profit experience in an accredited organization is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Enthusiastic self-starter who takes great pride in their work.
  • Previous experience in a non-profit, customer service role, and/or live-in treatment facility.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (ability to isolate causes of potential problems and collaborate on appropriate solutions).
  • Some heavy lifting and physical effort required, such as lifting heavy up to 50 pounds.
  • On your feet or walking around up to 80% of the day.
  • Ability to work extra overtime hours, as requested or scheduled.
  • Knowledge of basic building maintenance principles and techniques, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements and respect for the privacy of individuals in the facility.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Satisfactory clearance under the Criminal Reference Check.
  • Travel will be required to other locations within the portfolio; must have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle. (along with a Lumenus Vehicle)
