This individual will be responsible for crafting high-impact, persuasive fundraising content that drives lead and donor engagement on the website. With a strong understanding of digital user behavior, storytelling and SEO principles, you will shape compelling content that aligns with our mission: to create lasting change in the lives of children, families, and communities.Responsibilities1. SEO Content Development
Develop SEO-friendly evergreen and campaign content—landing pages, articles and product pages—that rank well, drive engagement and resonate with our marketing personas, wherever they are on their donor journey from awareness to conversion.
Conduct in-depth keyword research and apply on-page SEO techniques including metadata, headings, structured content and alt-text.
Work alongside the SEO Strategist to develop and execute on a content calendar for the website to meet quarterly SEO goals
Monitor website performance and adjust copy based on analytics, audience behavior, and search trends.
Collaborate with UX Lead and digital marketers to align copy with conversion goals, UX strategy and brand guidelines.
Conduct A/B testing on content to better understand user behaviour and increase team metrics like increasing time on site.
2. Storytelling & Impact Messaging
Transform complex organizational data, success stories, and donor insights into compelling narratives that highlight impact and motivate support.
Use storytelling to convey the human side of World Vision’s work, focusing on the individuals and communities benefiting from donor support.
Develop case studies and success stories that drive emotional engagement, illustrating the tangible outcomes of donor contributions.
3. Leadership & Mentorship
Co-lead and facilitate a community of practice for copywriters, providing guidance and feedback on how to execute on SEO-friendly, high-converting content and push for writing excellence across the organization.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing website engagement team focused on achieving fundraising goals and delivering high-quality, highly ranked content.
Qualifications
A minimum of 6 years of experience in copywriting, specifically for fundraising campaigns, in the nonprofit or cause-driven sector.
Proven ability to write high-impact website copy, with expertise in awareness, conversion and donor engagement.
Extensive experience writing both short-form and long-form SEO content, including ads, email campaigns, web copy, and landing pages.
Strong understanding of fundraising strategies and the ability to tailor messages to different personas and stages of the donor journey.
Exceptional storytelling skills, with a track record of creating narratives that emotionally connect with audiences and drive action.
Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to guide and inspire junior writers to produce high-quality work.
Deep knowledge of SEO and digital marketing principles as they relate to fundraising campaigns.
Detail-oriented, with excellent editing and proofreading skills, ensuring consistency and clarity across all content.
Passion for World Vision’s mission and the ability to articulate the impact of our work in a way that inspires others to give.
