- Work in a self-directed manner to manage complex project deliverables (charter, risk register, issues log, budget, etc.), establishing a means for ensuring the project is on-time and on-budget
- Provide support to project leads by managing, developing, and evaluating methods and procedures that are efficient, effective, and utilize good project management and change management practices
- Develop RFI/RFP's and work with vendors in evaluating and implementing proposed changes
- Negotiate and resolve contractual and project issues with contractors and suppliers
- Work with stakeholders and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering;
- Work with stakeholder groups and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering, solve innovative business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals, employing a full range of organizational resources to gather information, involve others, and make recommendations accordingly.
- Develop and presents material for review and information using strong written, verbal, and graphical communications skills with the ability to express complex concepts effectively.
- Provide strategic leadership and corporate vision to operational and project teams.
- Function at and utilize a high level of autonomy in determining objectives of assignment to achieve desired results, allocating staff resources, delegating assignments, scheduling/prioritizing staff workloads, determining, monitoring and reviewing team goals, performance and expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or project management certificate
- Must have at least 5 years of extensive project management experience, from planning and design, to construction
- Experience with Ministry of Health submissions and planning
- Knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), Fire Codes, National Building Code (NBC), CSA z8000 for provisions of planning/design within guidelines in Healthcare
- Lean/process improvement exposure is desirable
- Self-motivated, work independently and integrate well as a member of a variety of teams
- Flexible and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
- Ability to review, synthesize, compare and summarize complex tender documents
- Experience liaising with a broad range of individuals from clinical and professional staff to external stakeholders
- Effective research skills to identify best practices for a wide variety of areas related to complex projects
- Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills essential
- Interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Time management, organizational, conceptual and strategic thinking skills and abilities
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Excel, Project, Visio, database management, project management software, etc.
