This role supports projects spanning hardware and services that enable the generation, transmission, distribution, and efficient utilization of electrical energy.The position plays a critical role in ensuring commercial excellence, risk mitigation, and value realization across complex projects involving substation automation, protection systems, and renewable energy integration to support grid stability and resilience.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Financial Management
  • Own the commercial execution of projects from bid handover through close-out, ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor and control project financial performance, including revenue recognition, margins, cash flow, billing milestones, variations, and claims.
  • Develop and maintain commercial forecasts, cost-to-complete analyses, and financial reporting in collaboration with Project Managers and Finance.
Contract & Risk Management
  • Lead the contract review and negotiation process in collaboration with Legal, Sales, and Project teams.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contract risks, including scope changes, delays, penalties, and performance obligations.
  • Manage change orders, claims, and dispute resolution, ensuring timely documentation and negotiation.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as the primary commercial point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Service and Finance to ensure alignment across project execution.
Governance, Compliance & Processes
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, export controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, tools, and best practices across the Electrification & Automation portfolio.
  • Support audits and internal reviews related to project commercial performance.
What will you need to succeed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or contract management within energy, utilities, electrification, automation, or industrial projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects involving hardware and services.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, project finance, revenue recognition, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and its practical application in project environments
  • Experience working in substation automation, power systems, digital grid solutions, or cybersecurity-enabled infrastructure is a strong asset.
[Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 85,000.00 CAD - $ 105,000.00 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits.
