- Provide technical advice on site health and safety issues -site subject matter expert.
- Establish and maintain health and safety objectives and targets for the site.
- Represent H&S on site management team.
- Develop and implement tactical and strategic plans to improve health and safety performance.
- Manage the health and safety training program, including new hire training, job-specific training, contractor training and required refresher training.
- Manage the site health and safety committee.
- Manage site health and safety communications.
- Manage site incident and injury reports, investigations and record keeping.
- Assist in the management of workers' compensation claims and the site's KIK return-to-work program.
- Manage site health and safety corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely follow-up and implementation.
- Manage the site's waste management program, including sustainable development initiatives.
- Ensure that all required safety, environmental and sustainable development reports are completed in a timely manner for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain site health and safety filing program.
- Manage site risk assessments.
- Manage the site's hazard communication program, including the management of safety data sheets and required training.
- Manage site safety management systems.
- Manage site process safety management or E2 program, where applicable.
- Manage environmental permitting, reporting, monitoring and record keeping.
- Implement facility leadership and employee safety programs.
- Manage change management process.
- Manage site safety programs.
- Manage site emergency response programs.
- Ensure hazardous materials transportation compliance.
- Manage day-to-day activities of site health and safety personnel.
- Contribute to the identification and selection of site health and safety personnel.
- Manage the training and development of site health and safety personnel.
- Manage (if necessary) the prevention mutual.
- Carry out periodic performance evaluations of site health and safety personnel.
- Over 5 years' experience in environmental compliance, health and safety in a production environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state/provincial and local health and safety regulations required.
- Experience with industrial/drinking water treatment systems is a plus.
- Experience in the chemical or consumer products industry is a plus.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plans (RMP) or E2 requirements is a plus.
- Experience in employee supervision is an asset.
- Autonomous, focused on continuous improvement.

- Travel time required for the job: Less than 25%.
- Availability: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
