- Responsible for the delivery of consulting services such as business and finance process improvement and finance function organizational effectiveness studies.
- Execute business and financial process review and redesigns and other forms of project-based management consulting assignments with the objectives of optimizations of service delivery:
- Procure to Pay
- Order to Cash
- Payroll
- Acquire to Retire
- Project Accounting
- Financial close and reporting
- Budget and Financial Forecast ("Plan to Perform")
- Responsible for leading multiple projects and project managers for the Performance Improvement Operations Team
- Plan, conduct and provide leadership in data collection through primary, secondary, comparative and best practice research, including interviews, focus groups, facilitated workshops, surveys, review of client data, direct observation, and direct contacts.
- Accountable for managing project financials (use of resources, budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
- Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas and project metrics
- Think strategically about client needs by quickly gaining an understanding of their business, their organization, operating environment, and key risks
- Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
- Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
- Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies, where applicable
- Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
- Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses, and industry
- Network in the local business community and consider business development opportunities
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes
- Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues promptly
- Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle, and high standard of team wellness
- Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting option or other accounting training. Accounting designation required (CPA, CA or CMA or CPA, CGA)
- 5 to 7 years of consulting experience having managed Finance transformation or process improvement projects
- Bilingual, speaking and writing
- Experience in business and practice development is considered an asset
- Experience in project management is considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong process mapping and documentation
- Experience in business and practice development
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Some travel may be required
