- Provide technical expertise and leadership in control system engineering, design, implementation, programming, configuration, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting in support of Control Systems for O&G operations (upstream, midstream or downstream; onshore and offshore), Chemical Facilities, Manufacturing Facilities, etc. along with all associated control system devices, computers, communications, networks, endpoint devices, and instrumentation. (ICS e.g.: Distributed Control Systems "DCS", Programmable Logic Controller systems "PLC", and SCADA).
- Provide technical expertise in consultation, evaluation, recommendation, and development or review of specifications, work scopes, bid proposals, test procedures, alarm response procedures, commissioning plans, and vendor reports.
- Provide hands on control system Support, including digital devices or systems with communications interface to control systems (e.g. inverters, drives, and protection relays for electrical power systems).
- Manage/Lead projects and perform multiple responsibilities of controls engineering support in parallel and oversee vendor/contractor support when needed.
- Provide support and leadership to meet ICS Cyber Security requirements as well as other regulatory compliance requirements, projects, initiatives, and activities relative to industrial controls and control systems.
- Perform evaluation of control system and instrumentation specifications for projects and new plant construction.
- Control Systems may include (but not limited to the following vendors): Honeywell, Schneider, Emerson, GE, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, Wonderware.
- Post-Secondary Education in a field related to Instrumentation & Control.
- Experience with control loop tuning.
- Strong computer skills foundation as relates to operating systems, controls system software, servers, networks, and communications software.
- P.Eng registration or able to register
- Functional Safety Certification
