Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

- Provide technical leadership for the electrical components of multi-disciplinary industrial projects.
- Work and communicate effectively within a team of Electrical engineers and designers, as well as interface with other engineering disciplines, project management team, and vendors.
- Interface significantly with clients from the conceptual phases of a project to detailed design.
- Along with other senior lead electrical engineers, lead the electrical engineering team for years to come through guidance and mentoring
- Prepare detailed proposal input and review electrical proposal inputs for quality and completeness
- Prepare estimates for complex heavy industrial electrical engineering projects
- Review, check and approve work output of discipline assigned personnel, as required.
- Serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects, primarily on Canadian and US projects
- Perform engineering design and related duties including power system studies, equipment specifications and selection, management of vendor / equipment suppliers, power distribution layouts, grounding, LV and MV motor sizing and selection, cable distribution design, schematic, single line, termination schedule and wiring design.
- Prepare technical evaluations of suppliers' proposals
- Coordinate and interface with equipment vendors and review vendor documentation.
- Prepare construction contracts and scope of work.
- Prepare work plans and reports in a concise technical manner according to the applicable project specifics.
- Assist with construction supervision as well as the commissioning of industrial electrical systems.
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
- Maintain and plan cost control for all scopes of work.
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
- Prepare estimates and schedules as well as assisting in their review.
- Attend site visits to collect data as required for projects
- 20+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience leading the electrical discipline on large minerals and metals projects
- Must have experience on at least 5 multi-million dollar mining projects
- Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree) from a recognized University. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized North American university
- Must be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of British Columbia or have the ability to register as one within approximately 3 months of hire. (PE in the US is an asset)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of North American electrical codes and standards.
- Strong leadership qualities along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with AutoCAD and 3D design/drafting techniques is considered an asset
- Everyday use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
- Experience with ETAP or similar software design tools is considered an asset.
