- Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of a project.
- Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope deliverables, cost and schedule.
- Prepare technical documentation required for the execution of the project
- Manage and coordinate the progress of the engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures.
- Review shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs.
- Following the award of contracts and purchase orders as instructed, monitor the fabrication and construction work to ensure that it is executed in accordance with the engineering designs.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Implementing corrective action as required.
- Review the outcome of quality audits of engineering work and perform remedial work in accordance with the project procedures and the quality assurance plan.
- Check of documentation and interdisciplinary coordination is implemented in accordance with project procedures.
- Prepare draft monthly engineering progress reports for incorporation into the engineering monthly report.
- On a monthly basis, provide an update of the progress of the engineering work packages.
- Compile Functional Control Specifications; perform programming of control systems
- Provide reviews, support, and mentorship to junior engineers and support senior engineers with execution of work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.
- 6+ years project engineering experience. Mining experience would be an asset.
- Experience in instrumentation, control and automation design/consultancy ideally within a similar large engineering or multi-disciplinary project environment.
- Registered as a professional engineer with EGBC (Engineers and Geoscientists BC).
- Demonstrated “hands-on” site experience and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
- PLC/DCS programming experience (Rockwell - preferred, DeltaV and ABB would be an asset).
- Sound knowledge of 3D data-centric design systems.
- Knowledge and experience with data-centric design systems, e.g. Smart Plant Electrical, Smart Plant Instrumentation would be an asset.
- AutoCAD experience, MicroStation is an asset.
- Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to function with minimal supervision.
- Good safety awareness.
- Willingness to travel.
