- Audit effectiveness & project management – Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute risk-based audits and report audit results. You will effectively manage multiple audits and internal projects at different stages to ensure completion within prescribed timelines. You will communicate regularly on progress and issues and review audit work to ensure a high level of quality and compliance with audit standards.
- Annual Audit Plan and Continuous Monitoring - You will also be responsible for developing the annual audit plan by identifying the auditable entities and resources to carry out the audit. The plan may cut across CIBC's business lines and processes, and will include an assessment of interdependencies using an end-to-end approach. You will continuously monitor the Wealth Management portfolio to understand changes to inherent risks and the control environment to identify any significant changes that may impact the overall risk level and the impact on the Audit Universe.
- Leadership – Provide trusted and proactive advice to the audit team and business management on the design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls to ensure key risks and regulatory requirements relevant to the portfolio are being adequately managed. Coach and develop team members to build and maintain a collaborative team environment and ensure individual development goals are met.
- Communication - Demonstrate clear, concise and influential written and verbal communication skills when issuing audit reports, discussing audit findings, resolving conflicts or interacting with CIBC executives, regulators and external auditors. Develop strong internal and external relationships through ongoing communication on progress of engagements and providing advice on risk, control and regulatory matters.
- You can demonstrate experience of 5 to 10 years in auditing in the financial services sector with a focus on Wealth Management (Asset Management, Brokerage and Private Wealth Management) and the related regulatory environment in Canada. Knowledge of the regulatory environment in the United States would be an asset.

- You’re a certified professional. Typically this knowledge is acquired through obtaining an auditing or accounting designations (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA), a business degree (e.g., M.B.A.), in addition to business experience either in the banking and financial services world or internal / external audit assurance and consulting services. Completion of the CFA designation or other investment related designations would be considered a significant asset.
