- Working 3 week shifts at a remote, site in the Yukon. Travel to/from Whitehorse/Home and from Whitehorse to/from the job site will be paid by Parsons.
- Safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment including CAT 966, CAT 420, excavator, grader, steam truck and other utility vehicles.
- Work closely with the field crew in all requirement heavy equipment work around site while promoting and complying site safety procedures and policies.
- Ensure safe work operations of the and full compliance to operating procedures.
- Receive direction for the day-to-day operations work schedule.
- Do pre-& post inspection check-up of the equipment and write/keep equipment log.
- Responsible for and/or assists in fueling and filling all the fluids in the equipment to the right level.
- Assists in maintenance work of the equipment.
- Maintain tidiness in the equipment.
- Prepare and submit the necessary required daily reports as directed.
- Perform other functions as maybe directed from time to time by the Maintenance Superintendent.
- At least 5 years’ operational experience in operating CAT surface mining, construction heavy equipment.
- Physically fit to do manual labour and heavy lifting
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Class 1 or 3 license with air brake endorsement is an asset
- Must be able to effectively follow and give directions.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be comfortable working both in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Ability to lift to 20 kg
- Possessing a valid Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS Mine Rescue Standard (OHS, 2016) and approved by Yukon WCB, or willingness and ability to undergo training to obtain such.
