- Minimum 3 years experience operating a Grader in a forest environment; gravel spreading, snow grading, road ice blading, etc.
- Strong preference given for steep ground experience.
- Previous heavy equipment experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and implement road plans is required.
- Understanding and ability to operate to grade construction, stream crossing installation and excavation specific details.
- A valid driver’s license is required; Class 1 with air brake endorsement preferred.
- Experience with iPads and mapping applications is an asset.
- An understanding of forest policy, guidelines, and regulations is an asset.
- A demonstrated ability to meet performance measures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
- Preference given to candidates with previous forestry experience in the Southern Interior.
- Operate heavy equipment to safely undertake road construction and complete maintenance activities in the field.
- Work closely with Woodlands Operations Supervisors to follow building activities.
- Work with other operators to effectively construct and maintain roads.
- Work in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.
