- Minimum ten (10) years of hands-on heavy equipment operating experience.
- Minimum five (5) years in training delivery, mentoring, curriculum development, or program design.
- Minimum five (5) years of leadership (supervisor or management) experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience using learning or training management systems (LMS).
- Experience developing competency-based or student-focused training programs.
- Familiarity with simulators and blended learning models is an asset.
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Operator or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Adult Education, Training, or Instructional Design certification is an asset.
- Post secondary education is considered an asset.
- Advanced technical knowledge of heavy equipment operations and associated hazards across multiple environments, including maintenance fundamentals (servicing, tire work, steaming, etc.).
- Ability to design structured curricula and learning pathways
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with external partners and training organizations
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and planning skills
- Ability to work effectively in classroom, simulator, and field environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems
- Ability to research, interpret, and apply new information and best practices
- Experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, and knowledge of their diverse cultures, perspectives, and workforce development needs, are considered assets
- Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional techniques
