- Monitor and support strategic positioning of TCE in power, gas, and CCS markets across North America, including regulatory and policy developments affecting project viability
- Develop regular strategic briefing materials and memos to keep teams connected to key market insights
- Evaluate competitor activity, transaction benchmarks, and emerging technologies to support strategic positioning and opportunity generation in key regions
- Maintain databases of market intelligence and comparable transactions
- Prepare clear, concise materials for senior leadership and cross functional stakeholders
- Assist with scenario analysis related to market conditions, capital deployment, and growth pathways
- Support long range strategic planning and execution playbooks
- Translate strategic direction in meaningful engagement with Business Development to inform market entry and prioritization decisions
- Support the Business Development team with customer engagements, including account research, meeting strategy, presentation development and other requests as required
- Assist with any required M&A diligence activities, including data room review, issue tracking, and coordination with internal and external advisors
- Assist with investment committee, executive, and board level materials
- Support the diligence and review of various emerging technologies alongside a cross functional team to augment a portfolio of venture investments
- Support process improvement initiatives across origination, evaluation, and development workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 5 – 10 years of experience in strategy, market research, investment analysis, corporate development or consulting
- Experience developing power-market strategies for a multi-national organization
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, applying critical and strategic thinking to opaque problems and seeking creative solutions that extend outside the box
- Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations for senior audiences
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in power markets (AESO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO) with experience in various market designs (energy-only, capacity, LMP etc.) and resource adequacy constructs (reserve margins, ELCC, capacity accreditation)
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Proven team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
- Completion of an MBA or other professional designation program is considered an asset
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, particularly Thinkcell or other presentation tools
