We seek candidates who are committed to nurturing a community where integrity, compassion, inquiry and courage thrive.The Position:The Associate Director, Senior School Admission assists the Director of Admission as well as the Executive Director, Strategic Enrolment Management with all of the processes and procedures relating to recruitment and admission of Senior School students, including interviewing and assessing student applicants, recruitment travel, planning and executing events and onboarding.The Associate Director cultivates relationships with prospective parents, feeder schools (both locally and internationally), educational consultants and agents to ensure Havergal's reputation for excellence is maintained and enhanced. Working with members of the Admission team and key departments throughout the school, the Associate Director has a critical role in ensuring both students and parents who are new to Havergal are well supported during their transition from prospect to student.The successful candidate will contribute to Havergal's strategic plan and will represent the college by exemplifying the school's values of courage, compassion, inquiry and integrity.Specific Accountabilities:
  • Provides oversight of the Senior School admission process for day and boarding students, ensuring it aligns with the vision of the School and processes in the Junior and Middle School.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Admission Officer, Senior & Boarding School, including participating in the performance evaluation process.
  • Participates in key recruitment and admission travel, working with current families, alumnae/OGs and local agents as well as prospective families.
  • Partners with the Head of Upper School, Director of Admission and relevant teams to plan and execute a fulsome onboarding process for our new Senior School day and boarding families.
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with agents in key markets to ensure a strong admission funnel for boarding students.
  • Conducts market research for all boarding and day recruitment, keeping abreast of trends in our ecosystem and our particular competitive landscape.
  • Collaborates with the ED SEM and ED MarComms on specific boarding marketing strategies.
  • Liaises with the Alumnae Office to plan joint travel in conjunction with the Director of Admission.
  • Working with the Alumnae office, develops strategies to engage boarding alumnae and their families with the School.
  • Provides support to the Advancement department with the development of prospect lists and strategies for donor cultivation of new Senior School families.
  • Supports ED SEM and Director of Admission with recruitment, admission and community events.
  • Attends evening/daytime functions relating to Admission.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience in student recruitment and/or student admission.
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment who is able to analyze and present data to assist in setting priorities for the Admission department.
  • A compelling communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is adept in both verbal and written communication.
  • Displays a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Innovative approach with a curiosity to explore and desire to always improve.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative, is proactive and requires minimal supervision.
