- 3-5 years of commercial lines experience, with proven sales leadership in insurance or related fields
- Demonstrated Underwriting and market experience
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive business results, and execute organizational objectives
- High level of personal and professional integrity; strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience collaborating with business leaders and solving complex problems
- Proficient in networking; able to develop and maintain a vast, robust professional network
- Level 2 General Insurance License (or equivalent); Industry designation preferred (CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP)
- National commercial experience is considered an asset
- Willingness to travel nationally as required
- Lead and develop Small Business Solutions Sales teams nationwide, setting clear goals and driving performance.
- Oversee sales operations and business development strategies for small business commercial lines.
- Ensure iterative improvement and effective execution of sales processes and adherence to organizational standards.
- Work with BTEO and IT to identify and implement technology, communication and process improvements that drive improved results.
- Collaborate with in-house underwriting and commercial lines teams to align appetite and market placement approaches. Partner with national Commercial Lines leaders across Canada to support effective policy hand-offs, process improvements, and cross-functional workforce alignment within the commercial business.
- Ensure individual goals are set and that performance coaching and feedback is provided consistently.
- Work collaboratively with other business units leadership (Marketing, Underwriting) to deliver on corporate initiatives.
- Monitor and report on national sales performance, key metrics, and market trends; implement actions to amplify successes and address deficiencies.
- Develop and maintain a robust professional network, leveraging relationships to support business growth and market expansion.
- Support regional teams to resolve complex challenges.
- Identify and develop internal talent to ensure a pipeline of qualified candidates for future positions within the commercial segment.
- Represent the organization in industry associations and events, maintaining a high level of current industry knowledge.
- Travel nationally as required to support teams and business objectives.
