- Provide customers with professional, approachable and informative service on all products (plumbing, lighting and HVAC/R)
- Identify customer needs and provide a consultative, solution-based service
- Collaborate on design planning with creative and tailored recommendations for contractors and customers
- Respond to all customer inquiries promptly in person, by phone or email, and action new opportunities
- Resolve all concerns and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Develop quotations, process sales orders, manage deliveries and returns
- Enter quotations and orders into the system accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide customers with accurate pricing, inventory and delivery information
- Prepare quotations and process orders on behalf of outside sales staff
- Achieve sales targets and objectives as set out by Management by promoting and upselling products
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers with the intention of cultivating additional business
- Verify all items are available for the customer as ordered and scheduled
- Take initiative to maintain stock of the counter area as needed
- Offer help and assistance on counter or warehouse where required
- Adhere to company safety policies and regulations
- Previous retail or inside sales experience required
- A flair for design or design background is preferred
- High level of commitment to exceptional customer service
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated team player capable of managing multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- Professional demeanor and presentation
- Computer proficiency an asset
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Knowledge of the plumbing, lighting or HVAC/R industry an asset
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related program preferred
