- You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team to deliver impactful analytics solutions that support organization priorities. You will provide strategic direction, operational leadership, and people management, ensuring the team is aligned with business needs and equipped for success. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering one or more project/program/operational plans within a specific portfolio or functional area. As part of this role, you will act as the lead support to developing plans and deliverables, supervising resources and interacting with key internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Leveraging your ability to think strategically and execute tactfully, you will assist in solving business problems and exploring opportunities through the application of data analytical techniques and methodologies. Specifically:
- Support the development of strategies and roadmaps for leveraging data to support business objectives.
- Leverage AI, machine learning, Natural Language Processing, advanced statistical modelling, and analytics for the development, deployment and monitoring of end-to-end learning solutions.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and quality of data collected and analyzed by the team.
- Serving as a trusted advisor and facilitator to business units, you will combine your planning and analysis skills with an understanding of the business to drive ad-hoc analyses to projects and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
- You will apply expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and help advise, influence and support, and execute on the decision making.
- Applying your strong attention to detail and analytical skills, you will validate the quality and integrity of the data included in the self-served reports and dashboards.
- Utilizing your ability to develop strong relationships with senior leadership, you will work with the business units to understand business objectives and develop valuable reporting and ad-hoc data extract and reports.
- You will be responsible for leading the development of proposals and business cases for data & analytics initiatives.
- Drawing on your advanced organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, you will lead the design and delivery of a data literacy program to educate leaders and decisions makers on how to analyze, interpret, visualize and communicate with data using a consistent organizational vocabulary.
- You will be responsible for promoting analytic usage and skills among management and employees through training, mentoring, and the selection of appropriate analytics tools.
- Harnessing your continuous growth and data-driven mindset, you will maintaining up-to-date knowledge of data and best-in-class methods and analytic approaches relevant to advancing the products and goals of the organization.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Advanced (Masters) degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or related field; an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years of quantitative research and analytics.
- 3-5 years of combined experience with data processing, data science and modelling.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques.
- Strong programming skills and statistical modeling (such as experience with Power BI, Azure Synapse or SQLServer Data Warehouse, Python, R, SAS, etc).
- Proficiency in the use of statistical packages.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization.
- Knowledge or experience with one or more business or functional area such as supply chain management, finance, human resources.
- Experience in the use of AI or machine learning is an asset.

- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
- If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be required to travel a couple of times per year, and as required.
