It also explores approaches from cultural and social perspectives of media translation. The course delves deeply into translation strategies to deal with the conflict between Chinese and Western cultures in mass media.Application Instructions: PLEASE APPLY ONLINE:Salary: In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the rate of pay applicable for Sessional Instructional Assistants will be: $54.27/hour, excluding vacation pay.Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Appointment Dates: May 4, 2026 to June 30, 2026Sessional Dates (including exam periods):Course Schedule and Delivery Method listed on our Timetable: https://ttb.utoronto.ca/Course Enrollment (est.): 50Number of Positions (est.): 1Number of Hours (est.): 45Minimum Qualifications: Graduate experience in the discipline.Preferred Qualifications: Past English and Chinese bilingual grading experience on Quercus/Discussions at the university level and a strong English and Chinese bilingual studies and translation background. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from the English and Chinese Translation Minor at UTSC.Duties: maintaining an online discussion board, grading assignments and alternative methods of evaluation (tests/exams), uploading and calculating final grades.Closing Date: 04/22/2026, 11:59PM EDT
