- Provide direct project management to support the overall operations of the project, including project schedules and deliverables, governance, communication and engagement, reporting, and activities relating to four project objectives.
- Facilitate a collaborative team environment, consulting with the PI and larger project team as well as supervising and mentoring staff, student trainees, volunteers and/or interns.
- Develop and execute a measurable, goal-oriented knowledge translation strategy to effectively mobilize knowledge for local, provincial, national, and international impact.
- Develops knowledge mobilization tools to assist with the project (i.e., implementation resources, other
- print materials, web-based content or visual presentations).
- Identifies and leads consultations with key interest holders including community partners, policymakers, practitioners and representatives in health and education to apply research to inform healthy schools, and solicit feedback.
- Manage finances and budget for Health Schools LINK, in collaboration with the One Child Every Child Theme 3 Program Manager.
- A Master's degree in a health or related discipline (e.g., public health, nutrition, physical education, kinesiology, psychology, knowledge translation, etc.).
- 5+ years of public health experience working with diverse groups (a PhD may be considered as partially fulfilling this requirement)
- Understanding of ethical guidelines and institutional regulations relating to research and funding compliance.
- Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale initiatives with multiple interest holders, ideally involving practice-based, academic, and government partners.
- Experience in consensus-building techniques and processes (e.g., Delphi processes).
- Strong financial oversight capabilities (budgeting, analysis, reporting) and familiarity with grants administration.
- Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Strong community-engaged research skills (e.g., community-based participatory research approaches, integrated knowledge translation, co-development of research processes with knowledge users).
- Understanding of the needs of school communities in Canada and of Comprehensive School Health (CSH) or other health-promoting schools frameworks.
- Working knowledge of typical office-related software and data management systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google, NVivo and willingness to learn new applications.
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills to produce knowledge products (e.g., manuscripts, reports, presentations, grant applications) and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge and understanding of University of Alberta research services, financial, and human resources procedures, policies, and agreements is an asset.
- Experience with Indigenous community-based work is an asset for members of the One Child Every Child research team.
