- Oversee day-to-day plant operations including production, quality, and maintenance
- Lead and develop a team of 3 direct reports and approximately 85 shop floor employees
- Rollout training for Lean manufacturing, Six sigma, and 5S and enforce processes and standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Manage production scheduling, inventory, and workflow using ERP/MRP systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved profitability
- Collaborate with leadership to implement operational strategies and process improvements
- Build strong relationships with employees and supervisors while reinforcing processes, training, and accountability
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in metal fabrication, starting on the shop floor and advancing into a Plant Manager or senior leadership role
- Proven experience managing large teams in a unionized environment
- Experience overseeing 3 or more direct reports and 80 or more production staff
- Strong hands-on knowledge of fabrication processes; machining or equipment-building experience is an asset
- Must have demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S, including the ability to train and coach teams
- Engaging leadership style with the ability to build relationships, gain buy-in, and enforce processes and standards
- Strong background in continuous improvement, cost control, and plant performance metrics
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
