Assisting the Project Manager/CAM in developing and maintaining the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and supporting scope definition. * Preparing, maintaining, and updating baseline and working schedules by gathering status updates and incorporating approved changes.
  • Supporting schedule performance monitoring by identifying variances, emerging trends, critical path impacts, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Tracking actual project expenditures and maintaining cost records in established systems.
  • Supporting earned value and variance analysis across cost, schedule, and labour and compiling results for reporting.
  • Providing source inputs for forecasting activities and identifying cost and schedule risks that require follow‑up.
  • Preparing consolidated reports, dashboards, and status updates summarizing project progress, risks, costs, and performance.
  • Acting as a communication bridge by ensuring accurate and timely information sharing between project teams, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Analyzing project performance against KPIs and ensuring variances are explained and resolved.
  • Maintaining the project change log, tracking change requests, approvals, and impacts.
  • Working with project managers and stakeholders to analyze potential changes and presenting recommended actions.
  • Ensuring evaluation and approval processes are followed to prevent scope creep and maintain project baselines.
  • Maintaining the project risk register, documenting risks, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans.
  • Facilitating risk review meetings and engaging stakeholders in identifying and addressing emerging risks.
  • Tracking, escalating, and monitoring the resolution of project issues.
  • Assisting with project procurements by supporting requisitions, tracking procurement status, and coordinating with Procurement and vendors.
  • Monitoring vendor performance throughout the procurement lifecycle to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Ensuring contract terms and responsibilities remain clearly defined to avoid scope creep.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
Graduation from a post‑secondary program in project management, business, commerce, or technology; or * One (1) year of project controls experience in lieu of post‑secondary education.
  • Experience
  • Experience with project controls, cost tracking, scheduling, or project reporting.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and organizational levels. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; working‑level capability in Oracle; ability to learn ATOM, MFRC/Merlin, PCRS, and project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Strong analytical thinking, questioning attitude, sound judgement, and professionalism.
  • Self‑motivated team player able to work with minimal oversight.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
  • Working schedule: We have a compressed work week: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week, starting at 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
