Financial ControllerOur client is seeking a Financial Controller to serve as the organization's senior financial steward, responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, strength of internal controls, and effectiveness of accounting operations. This role provides both operational leadership and strategic financial oversight to support long‑term organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear guidance for senior leaders.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Oversee month‑end and year‑end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate account reconciliations
  • Review and approve payments and financial transactions to safeguard organizational assets
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends and risks, and present insights to senior leadership
  • Improve accounting workflows through automation, standardization, and process optimization
  • Document and maintain accounting procedures and internal control frameworks
  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns and manage related payment schedules
  • Develop and maintain detailed cash‑flow forecasts to support liquidity and financial planning
  • Track debt, financing, and project‑level funding requirements and compliance obligations
  • Manage banking relationships, investments, and corporate credit programs
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external audits, coordinating documentation and responses
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, grant, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing accounting team
  • Establish performance goals, KPIs, and development plans to support accountability and growth
  • Support succession planning and lead teams through organizational change
Your strengths include:
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional qualification
  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
  • Experience working with ERP or enterprise accounting systems
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial audiences
  • Proven leadership and team‑development capability
  • High ethical standards with a commitment to transparency and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change in a complex environment
