
Senior Manager, Financial Systems

- The SMFS manages complex activities/systems/projects for Dentons Canada's financial systems from the business user perspective with responsibility for maintaining the functionality and effectiveness of those systems. Key responsibilities as follows:
- Manages the technical development, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems to ensure they meet Dentons Canada's needs
- Responsible for overseeing the enhancements, upgrades/quarterly releases (including Billstream and 3E) and configuration changes to 3E, other third party financial systems and integrations from a technical point of view.
- Lead and mentor a team of financial systems analysts and administrators who support the maintenance of financial systems.
- Collaborate with various departments (including the Finance Team/Financial reporting team) to identify and address financial system requirements and improvements and provide the required Financial Data and reporting.
- Collaborate with Global Finance Team on the management of shared systems
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of financial data within the systems.
- Provide the highest level, 3rd tier support, for all Finance Systems helpdesk tickets (generated from third party systems) from users across the Canadian Region.
- Manage the technical portion of finance system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations with other business systems including the design, development, testing and implementation of custom solutions
- Preparation of Partner statistics and Partner compensation data and the automated distribution of reports to Partners which are used in the annual Partner Compensation process.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to financial systems and processes.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial systems and technology.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and privacy requirements. Power BI security
- Maintain and enhance the data set (power BI data model).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Information technology with a deep knowledge of Finance and accounting and 10 years of related experience. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- In depth knowledge of 3E, underlying integrations to other systems and data warehouse management.
- Extensive experience in financial systems management, including implementation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of financial software, ERP systems, financial system architecture and data warehouses.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong leadership, mentorship and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self starter and motivated to work with the team
- Experience with specific financial software and systems (e.g., 3E, Microsoft, Azure, PowerBi).
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query (M language).
- Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization best practices.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL).
- Understanding of Excel (especially pivot tables, Power Pivot, and Power Query).
- Experience integrating Power BI with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, or Teams.
- Deep knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Certification in financial systems or project management (e.g., PMP, CFA).
