- Transaction Management: Systematically reconcile transactions, including complex private investments, inter-affiliate activity, and capital stock movements.
- Currency Oversight: Support and reconcile currency hedging entries, including forwards and swaps, while tracking overall currency movements.
- Liquidity Monitoring: Track bank activity and revolving credit facilities; manage and monitor inter-entity cash flows to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Reporting Standards: Prepare comprehensive financial and management reports in accordance with IFRS and/or US GAAP standards.
- System Management: Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate general ledgers and fund-specific metrics.
- Performance Tracking: Maintain internal reporting schedules and fund performance data for stakeholder review.
- Tax & Compliance: Assist with the preparation of compliance documentation and tax reporting schedules.
- Issue Resolution: Conduct thorough investigations into accounting discrepancies and resolve complex transaction issues.
- System Optimization: Participate in the development and implementation of system and process improvements to enhance reporting speed and accuracy.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within financial services, alternative investments, or private equity.
- Strong hands-on experience with fund accounting principles and investment reconciliations.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and proven experience using QuickBooks.
- Accounting Standards: Solid working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a meticulous approach to data integrity.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written English for professional internal reporting.
- Availability: Must be able to work consistently during Toronto business hours.
- Experience with specialized fund accounting software (e.g., Investran, Allvue) (Preferred).
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation (Nice to Have).
- Background in private credit or debt fund structures (Highly Regarded).
