If such a workplace intrigues you, we hope you’ll join us.About the role:Financeit is looking for a detail-oriented and curious Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll have ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, build a strong understanding of our consumer lending operations, and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s eager to learn, takes initiative, and enjoys finding ways to improve processes in a fast-paced fintech environment.
  • Prepare timely and accurate month-end working papers and journal entries
  • Perform daily cash and loans receivable reconciliations
  • Support day-to-day operational accounting activities
  • Support lender reporting with monthly reports and ad-hoc analysis
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Accounting to enhance processes and workflows
  • Contribute to the year-end financial audit.
What you'll be doing:
  • Prepare timely and accurate month-end working papers and journal entries
  • Perform daily cash and loans receivable reconciliations

  • Contribute to the year-end financial audit.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation is strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills are a must (v-lookup, pivot tables, sumif)
  • Knowledge of IFRS concepts and day-to-day accounting is required
  • Experience with Accounting ERP systems and Google Looker is an asset
  • Previous audit experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, takes initiative, dependable, with a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Experience in financial services or lending is an asset.
