
Machine Operators

- Efficient operation of CNC cutting machines including plasma and laser as well as the operator related maintenance
- Responsible for the following machines and operations: punching, drilling, sawing, torching, and bender, roller threader, press, shear, punch press, hand and hand power tools
- Program simple cuts on the machines
- Efficiently operate and maintain plasma and laser cutting equipment
- Ensure production schedule for machine is adhered to
- Report any programming /software issues immediately to supervisor and/or programmer
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area up to Brandt standards
- Must be available to work various shifts as workload requires with availability to work overtime.
- Ensure machine is in optimal working condition at all times.
- Achieve efficient flow of materials into and out of the machine
- Follow the schedule as defines by the manufacturer
- Accurately filling out process sheets and accurately counting number of pieces completed
- Required to do minor setup
- Familiarity with material sizes and specifications of product
- Required to operate all equipment in machine department when necessary
- Ability to setup all of the equipment in the machine department
- Capable of working under minimal supervision
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to read Shop Drawings and Production Orders
- Must be able to work in a steel fabrication and/or manufacturing shop environment
- Must be able to work independently
- Positive attitude with excellent problem solving skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be knowledgeable in the use and operation of all hand power tools
- Thorough knowledge of all equipment in the machine department
- Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Has some knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment
- Uses measuring instruments
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fabrication/Machine shop industrial environment experience
- Must be able to read Shop Drawings and Production Orders
