- Process weekly, multi-provincial Canadian payroll
- Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time using
- Review, validate, and troubleshoot electronic timesheets
- Support payroll job costing requirements
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and balancing
- Ensure compliance with provincial payroll legislation
- Complete regular benefits reconciliations
- Respond to frequent employee inquiries related to benefits coverage and deductions
- Support benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Liaise with internal teams and benefits providers as required
- Serve as a primary contact for payroll- and benefits-related employee questions
- Provide clear, professional, and timely responses to inquiries
- Work closely with employees in operational and field-based roles
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and year-end activities
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues as appropriate
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably handling large employee groups.
- PCP or pursuing the certification is an asset although not required
- Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce or similar automated payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance and regulations across multiple provinces.
- Experience managing union payroll processes is considered an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to address employee inquiries and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and reconciliation processes.
