Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is searching for an Inspector for municipal infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position based in Winnipeg, MB. Projects primarily consist of road reconstructions, land development, water distribution, sanitary and storm sewers, and water resources/stormwater management. The successful candidate will be assigned to a project based on their skillset and area of expertise. Project assignments can be in and out of the Winnipeg Region.The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concerns
  • Oversee daily on-site operations
  • Work closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specifications
  • Preparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;
  • Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and client
  • Provide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project Engineer
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculations
  • Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; and
  • Training of entry-level employees.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
  • 4+ years of relevant surveying experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience with with civil, water and wastewater construction projects
  • Projects of the same type, e.g. road reconstructions, land development, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, etc.
  • Candidate will be required to follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by example
  • Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications
  • Construction methods of open cut, vertical trenching and trenchless technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to details is essential
  • Experience working around mobile heavy equipment
  • Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services
  • Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset
