- Manage client and subcontractor documentation from opportunity identification through project closeout.
- Provide contract advice and management support during pre-bid, estimating, bid-submission, negotiation, and project execution phases.
- Support drafting and review of client documents including RFQs, RFPs, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies by analyzing risks, suggesting mitigation strategies, and advising operations teams.
- Interpret and apply contract documents in collaboration with project and operational teams.
- Coordinate with Aecon's legal advisors for timely legal input.
- Form and administer subcontracts, ensuring relevant terms and conditions are properly flowed down.
- Prepare and manage contractual correspondence and notices in accordance with contractual timelines.
- Maintain logs of issues, change requests, and change orders.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all contractual matters.
- Contribute to the development and revision of operating policies and procedures.
- Lead change management efforts, including schedule interpretation and claims administration.
- Engage with insurance advisors to develop appropriate project insurance programs.
- Draft and manage Design Service Agreements.
- Support initial dispute resolution and provide litigation support as needed.
- Be a problem-solver who can block and tackle to keep projects moving forward.
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of commercial/contract management experience in a construction environment, preferably with a contractor in the Utilities or Energy sector.
- Familiarity with project operations, planning, scheduling, and management.
- Experience with labor obligations and their impact on project execution.
- Ability to understand technical and commercial issues and develop clear, written contractual positions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- U.S. project experience or exposure to U.S. licensing and regulatory environments and familiarity with U.S. contract law and insurance requirements would be an asset
