- This role is responsible for cultivating and growing new individual donor relationships through proactive engagement and in-person stewardship opportunities.
- This includes meeting one on one with individual donors to gain a better understanding of their philanthropic interests and motivations with a goal of cultivating ongoing YESS support.
- Ensures donor contact is personalized through a muti-channel approach i.e. one on ones, letters, phone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to ensure that donor relationships are advancing, and donor development activities are on track.
- Utilizes individual donor relationships to identify external opportunities to build community partnerships in collaboration with Corporate Giving and/or grants and foundations.
- As directed by the CDO, coordinate and manage timelines and logistics for various campaigns to ensure individual giving is cultivated and plans are conducted in a timely manner with a focus on acquisition and retention of individual donors and graduating them to higher levels of engagement and support.
- Prepare and coordinate the creation of various fundraising materials such as proposals, briefing notes, presentations, letters, and other documentation to support effective donor engagement.
- Throughout each campaign, review progress and analyze results as to why the campaign is succeeding and/or not on track to achieve funding targets to adjust the campaign in as timely manner as possible. Specifically examine why the individual actively became involved and what their motivation was for participating and/or giving.
- Recommend adjustments to the CDO when campaigns require change, including providing concrete plans to address the deficiencies.
- This role will typically be responsible for campaigns such as, but not limited to: The Walk for YESS, Giving Tuesday, Monthly Giving, Planned Giving, and the Annual Year-End Campaign.
- The role is expected to work collaboratively with the corporate giving team and the database specialist when executing campaigns and analyzing the results.
- Generate weekly contact reports identifying donors and progress made and outlining potential opportunities for increased giving and/or better understanding of the donor’s needs in relation to giving.
- Responsible for management and stewarding of all individual donors with metrics developed and reported annually for growth and retention rates.
- As the Development Manager this role will provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the development team members by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and high performance.
- The role will develop goals and KPIs for each team and team member and hold these teams accountable through ongoing individual and team feedback and coaching and continuous learning.
- Responsible for team culture and engagement within the development team and facilitating that across the organization.
- Provide support and guidance to Strategic Coordinator – Executive Office regarding volunteer program management.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in fund development.
- Experience must demonstrate strong individual donor stewardship skills.
- Supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
- Project management skills related to campaign execution is highly desirable.
- Previous experience will demonstrate the ability to analyze donor data for the purpose of identifying trends and setting new objectives.
- Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook and Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor database preferred.
- Clear police clearance (PIC) and a Child Intervention (CIRC) check, both obtained within the last six months.
