Compensation: Salaried ExemptPosition Description: It is the function of the Procurement Agent to secure delivery of specified products and/or services from and foster relationships with qualified subcontractor or vendors. This role is in onsite and is for an existing vacancy.Reports to: Procurement ManagerEssential Duties & Responsibilities*:
- Execute procurement activities to secure delivery of specified products and/or services from qualified subcontractors and vendors and negotiate prices and terms favorable to specific project demands.
- Secure new and update existing subcontractor/vendor prequalifications, including financial statement analysis and reference verification to make bid or contract recommendations.
- Establish and oversee Procurement Schedule, including attending project meetings.
- Manage bid process, establish project bidding procedures, prepare documentation, prequalification, and approval of bid lists.
- Support project and Business Unit Underrepresented Business Enterprises (UBE) strategy to meet requirements.
- Engage with Operations to create general and special conditions, safety requirements, and scope requisitions for each project to ensure that scope, schedule, UBE (or other hiring requirements), and insurance and bonding requirements are clearly defined for bidders.
- Examine plans and specifications for deficiencies, construction issues, and technical questions; escalate findings for
- Develop thorough understanding of Trades scope to conduct scope review meetings with competitive bidders to confirm bidders compliance with scope requirements, alternates, unit pricing, manpower, schedule, logistics plans, UBE requirements, insurance and bonding requirements, and other project specific requirements.
- Engage in negotiations with short-listed subcontractors and vendors to finalize contract award recommendations.
- Issue recommendations for approval of subcontractors and vendor awards to client and/or project team.
- Prepare and issue subcontracts or oversee process and follow up for timely execution of the subcontract, receipt of Certificates of Insurance (COI), Payment and Performance (P&P) bonds (if required), and any other project specific items;
- In conjunction with Project Team, develop, execute, and monitor Risk Management Plans where/when required.
- Overseeing current insurance certificates, bonds, and consent of surety for reserve reductions, off-site material payments and final payments.

- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 3 years of construction or related experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- PQS Designation or GSC. Designation would be an asset
- Knowledge of CCDC Contracts
- Knowledge of estimating process and practices
- Operational construction knowledge
- Knowledge of tendering process for CCDC Contracts
- Have and be willing to establish trade partner relationships
- Experience in knowledge of related construction operations
- Knowledge of procurement policies, practices, and processes
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Familiar with accounting processes and practices
- Ability to communicate effectively, influence decisions and negotiate outcomes
- Demonstrate leadership from within, teamwork, and build professional relationships
- Flexible to reprioritize responsibilities and in non-structured environment with multiple project teams
- Demonstrate analytical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills, database application skills, and Microsoft suite of applications, collaboration tools
- Familiar with SAP
- Some travel
