CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957.CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of Engineering Designer (Support).PurposeCPC Pumps International is looking for an Engineering Designer (Support) that would be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Working with sales to guide centrifugal pump selection and predicted curve creation
  • Identify gaps in product range coverage to guide future product development
  • Review pump test results and make recommendations for performance curve corrections
  • Work with other departments as needed to provide technical support
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist sales in performance curve selection to meet specific applications
  • Participate in hydraulic component modifications for performance improvement
  • Identify and implement new/improved design standard and procedural documents
  • Impeller, diffuser, volute design
  • Work with other Engineers to investigate and resolve technical issues
To succeed, you will needQualification Requirements
  • Previous experience designing impellers, volutes, diffusers to meet specified hydraulic performance
  • Previous experience testing centrifugal pumps
  • Solid knowledge of hydraulic engineering, mechanical engineering, and pressure vessels
  • Knowledge of API 610, HI, ASME and ASTM standards
  • Proficiency in engineering and design software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft office)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others
  • Knowledge of Engineering analysis software is an asset (ANSYS CFX, Simerics, etc.)
  • Experience in programming with Visual Basics or C++ is an asset
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience with centrifugal pump design and/or testing
Physical Demands
  • Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy
