Engineering Designer (Analysis)

- Centrifugal pump design analysis to API 610, Hydraulic Institute, and ASME BPVC standards
- Review test results and make recommendations for curve corrections
- Bearing, bearing housing, and lubrication system design and evaluation
- Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps to analyze and improve performance
- Perform FEA analysis to evaluate structural integrity
- Perform rotor dynamic analysis
- Perform thermal analysis of pump components
- Perform Multiphysics analysis of pump designs
- Analyze impellers, volutes, diffusers to meet specified hydraulic performance as per job specifications and relevant industrial standards/codes
- Assist in performance curve generation to meet specific applications
- Participate in hydraulic component modifications for performance improvement
- Identify and implement new/improved design standard and procedural documents
- Work with other Engineers to direct the investigation and resolution of problems relating to design or quality issues, record and report findings, make corrections, and develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions
- Knowledge of Engineering analysis software (ANSYS Mechanical/CFX/Fluent, Simerics, Dyrobes etc.)
- Previous experience designing impellers, volutes, diffusers to meet specified hydraulic performance
- Previous experience testing centrifugal pumps
- Solid knowledge of hydraulic engineering, mechanical engineering, and pressure vessels
- Knowledge of API 610, HI, ASME and ASTM standards
- Proficiency in engineering and design software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft office)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others
- Experience in programming with Visual Basics or C++ is an asset
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy
