- Troubleshooting Submarine Sonar and Fire Control Systems;
- Producing technical reports and investigating deficiencies, recommending solutions as field service representative;
- Developing and validating test procedures that will verify the functionality of Submarine Sonar and Fire Control Systems;
- Conducting training delivery of the Submarine Sonar and Fire Control Systems under the direction of the Lead instructor;
- Identifying and contributing to the development of training material as it directly relates to the Qualification Standard Plan (QSP) and related policy documentation;
- Authoring lesson plans and conducting related activities including the production of student handouts, instructor guides, quizzes, tests, assignments and other presentation materials based predominately on a knowledge of the Submarine Sonar and Fire Control Systems under the direction of the Lead instructor;
- Supporting a flexible work schedule, including travel and overtime when necessary to support program, team, and customer schedules; and
- Supporting the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functionality with shipping, receiving and tracking of spare components and the return to service.
- Education: Community College diploma in an Education-related discipline, or equivalent naval technical experience/combined education with 1 year of professional experience;
- Technical experience working with RCN combat systems; preferably Submarine Combat Systems;
- Knowledge of networking protocols and architecture;
- Ability to author test procedures for Submarine Combat Systems with guidance from the technical team;
- Understanding of Canadian Armed Forces training establishment and processes;
- Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment;
- Organizational and planning skills;
- Relationship-focused mindset and a proven ability to support organizational level initiatives; and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and follow established processes.
- Technical and operational knowledge of the Submarine Sonar and Fire Control Systems;
- Familiarity and/or experience with the Victoria Class Submarine;
- Knowledge of training analysis, design, development and evaluation of comprehensive training programs;
- Experience or a demonstrated capacity to develop training material and instruct in a classroom environment;
- Experience with Military trainers and training ;
- CAF leadership training (PLQ, ILQ) is an asset;
- Experience with Microsoft Office;
- Collaborative spirit to work effectively with customers; and
- Adaptability to respond to changing requirements.
