- Work extensively with Excel to perform complex financial analysis.
- Develop proficiency with BDO’s real estate valuation workbooks, mapping, and research programs.
- Conduct market research and collect/collate relevant sales comparables.
- Carry out land use research, including mapping, usage, official plans, and zoning by-laws.
- Participate in site inspections as required (some travel may be necessary).
- Contribute to the preparation of appraisal reports, client presentations, and proposals.
- Liaise with market participants and clients for research and reporting purposes.
- Support business development activities by building relationships with current and prospective clients, as well as other BDO service groups.
- Perform additional valuation-related tasks as assigned (audit assist, market research reporting, etc).
- If interested, contribute to Business Valuations for tax planning, financial reporting, financial planning, and transaction advisory purposes.

- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or another related field
- Willingness to work towards an AACI designation is an asset.
- 0-2 years of work experience in appraisal, asset management, investments, consulting, etc is considered an asset
- An understanding and ability to read financial statements, and other pertinent documents such as leases, sales agreements, and research reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- A valid Canadian G-level driver’s license with access to a car is required.
