The role is primarily operational and coordination‑focused, working under the direction of senior Manager AI governance to help deliver AI governance assessments, maintain AI inventories, and coordinate required inputs from Cyber, IT, Privacy, Legal, and Procurement.The role plays a key part in enabling consistent, timely, and well‑documented AI governance outcomes across model and non‑model AI use cases.This is an opportunity to help shape how AI is governed and embedded, ensuring confidence in emerging technologies across Aviva Canada!What you'll do:AI Governance Execution & SupportSupport the rollout and ongoing execution of the AI Governance Framework across business units and AI use cases.Maintain the AI / GenAI inventory and registers, ensuring use cases, classifications, risk outcomes, and documentation are accurately captured and kept up to date.Support the coordination of model and non‑model AI assessments with first‑line business owners and second‑line risk partners, following defined governance processes.AI Assessments & Cross‑Functional CoordinationAct as a coordination point for AI governance assessments required for AI use cases, including: Cyber security, IT/architecture & operational readiness, Privacy, Legal, Procurement and third‑party riskTrack assessment progress, outcomes, and dependencies, ensuring results are reflected in inventories, governance artefacts, and escalation materials.Support the tracking and follow‑up of identified issues, control gaps, and remediation actions, escalating to senior governance leads where required.Prepare consolidated materials and summaries for AI governance forums, working groups, and review meetings.Support the documentation and application of AI governance controls, such as transparency, explainability, bias/fairness, data protection, human oversight, and performance monitoring.Assist with governance control testing, evidence collection, and assurance activities related to AI use cases.Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and consistency of AI governance processes, tools, and reporting.Partner & Senior SupportWork closely with Cyber, IT, Privacy, Legal, Procurement, Risk, Data Governance, and business teams to support consistent interpretation and execution of AI governance requirements.Support senior managers by preparing clear, concise, and well‑structured summaries on AI governance status, risks, and remediation progress for leadership audiences.What you'll bring:5–7 years’ experience in data governance, risk management, compliance, analytics, or technology governance roles (AI experience beneficial but not required).Working knowledge of AI / GenAI concepts, AI lifecycles, and governance processes.Familiarity with cloud and data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake) and associated governance considerations.Awareness of relevant AI and data regulatory frameworks (e.g. OSFI E‑23, EU AI Act, AMF).Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.Strong coordination, documentation, and partner communication skills.What you’ll get:The salary band for this position ranges from $100,000 to $115,000.
